The STER-O-TAP Filter

HThe Ster-O-Tap filter system has been developed at Prime Water in Belgium, a company which is specialised in water purification. The system consists of a filter with accompanying shower head. By using the Ster-O-Tap system, legionella contamination through the shower belongs to the past. The system measures up to other, much more expensive systems as regards reliability and efficiency. Because the great advantage of the Ster-O-Tap system is its price. Furthermore it can be installed very easily.

How does the Ster-O-Tap system work?
The working of the Ster-O-Tap system is as much ingenious as it is simple. A filter has been integrated into the handle of the shower head. This filter consists of funnel-shaped membranes. These membranes are very small: 0,15 microns, and therefore smaller than the smallest bacteria of 0,3 microns. Legionella bacteria will not have a chance to pass through it, however water does pass through it. If you put on your shower and the water passes the membrane, only bacteria that are larger than 0,00015 millimetres will be removed. The legionella bacterium is too large for the small holes and therefore cannot pass the filter. Research shows that 99,999999% of the bacteria will be removed, without slowing down the water supply!
